1. What we collect
When you use FounderDistro, we collect:
- Account data — your email address and name when you sign up.
- Product data — the URLs you submit and the scraped content from those pages.
- Generated content — posts, schedules, and content preferences you create or configure inside the app.
- Usage data — actions you take within the app (e.g. generations used, features accessed) to improve the product.
- Platform connection data — OAuth tokens for LinkedIn when you choose to connect your account for publishing.
- Payment data — billing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
2. How we use your data
- To generate and personalise content for your projects.
- To authenticate you and manage your subscription.
- To publish or schedule posts on your behalf when you explicitly request it.
- To improve the product based on aggregate, anonymised usage patterns.
- To send you transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, billing receipts).
We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your content to train AI models without your explicit consent.
3. Third-party services
FounderDistro uses the following third-party services to operate:
- Supabase — database and authentication (EU data residency available).
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Vercel — hosting and edge functions; Vercel Analytics on the marketing site when you consent.
- Google (GA4, Google Ads) — website analytics and ads measurement when you consent (see Cookies section).
- PostHog — product analytics when you consent; data is processed per PostHog's Privacy Policy.
- Anthropic / OpenAI — AI content generation. Content you submit is processed by these providers subject to their respective privacy policies.
- Perplexity AI — real-time trend data.
- Firecrawl — web scraping of URLs you submit.
- LinkedIn API — publishing posts on your behalf when connected.
4. Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data — projects, posts, schedules, and profile information — is permanently deleted within 30 days.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Danger Zone.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies on founderdistro.com and our app for the purposes below. You can change non-essential choices anytime via Cookie settings in the site footer (or the banner when you first visit).
Strictly necessary. These keep the service working and secure — for example Supabase session cookies so you stay logged in. They do not require consent under typical EU/UK interpretations, because they are essential to provide the service you ask for.
Analytics (optional, with your consent). If you allow analytics, we load Google Analytics 4 (via Google tag / gtag), Vercel Analytics, and PostHog to understand traffic and product usage in aggregate. These technologies may set cookies or use device storage. See Google's Privacy Policy and Vercel's Privacy Policy, and PostHog's Privacy Policy.
Marketing / measurement (optional, with your consent). If you allow this category, we may load Google Ads tags (e.g. conversion measurement) where configured. You can refuse this while still using the product.
Changes. If we add new tracking technologies beyond those listed here, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for consent before enabling them.
Legal bases (EEA/UK). Where GDPR applies: necessary cookies rely on legitimate interests or performance of a contract; analytics and marketing tags rely on your consent until you withdraw it.
6. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
- Export your data (contact us and we will provide a copy).
To exercise these rights, email us at privacy@founderdistro.com.
7. Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Database access is restricted via row-level security policies. OAuth tokens for platform connections are stored encrypted. We follow industry-standard security practices, but no system is 100% secure — please use a strong, unique password for your account.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or via an in-app notice. The date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent revision.
